Saturday’s event was a tremendous success with juniors golfers coming from all over the country to play as far away as Derry and Belfast. We had 68 golfers compete on the day with Justin Dennehy from Douglas being the youngest entrant at 4 years old. Cork players Fernhills Wayne Whitley O’Callaghan won the 9 and under group with a great score of 51 which was 2 over gross for 13 holes which Ben Costello from Kinsale winning the 13 and under with a gross of 83 for 18 holes his brother Jody took 3rd place. In the girls section Rhea Itty won with gross 95 with Lainey Smyth 2nd and abbey Mclaughlin 3rd all play in Fernhill. The category of the day was the contest in the 7 and under age group with Jack Clohessy shooting an unbelievable score of 37 only 3 over par to pip AJ Hayes by one shot with Finlay Eagar from Bangor 3rd.
