Stephen Gordon
PGA Pro Bangor Golf Club
sg

I am the Head Teaching Professional at Bangor Golf Club, succeeding Michael Bannon in November 2012.

My career began at Holywood Golf club where I worked for 3 years under Paul Gray. The opportunity then arose to go and work as an assistant professional at the Ryder Cup resort of the K Club in Kildare, Ireland. I spent a year working there gaining experience in several departments.  As part of their training program I also spent 4 months working at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida. Then an opportunity came to go and work at Bangor Golf Club under Michael Bannon. Michael is coach to world number 1 Rory McIlroy and was European Coach of the year in 2011.  I spent 4 years under Michaels Tuition watching and learning how to teach people of all ages and abilities.  I also had the privilege of watching him nurture Rory and help him to become the talent he is.In my current role as head teaching professional at Bangor golf club I try to continue teaching in the style that Michael has taught many people and taught me to teach people as individuals and not teach a method.
